How many people can I book for?
I can look after up to 8 services. For more than 8 services, I'll organise and bring along another artist so you don't need to worry about anything.
My mum doesn't wear any makeup, would you recommend booking for her?
Yes! I've had many years experience doing more mature makeup and we can do a natural look that your mum or grandma will be very comfortable with. No big lashes or dark lipstick, I'll work with any requests they have. It's such a nice part of the day for everyone to be involved in. Just a note that I don't provide half services on the day (ie. "just my eyes" or "a quick brush or curl").
How long does preparation take on the day?
It's best to check what time your photographer would like you to be ready and we’ll work backwards from there. I normally suggest completing hair and makeup 15 minutes before the photographer arrives. It generally takes about 2 hours for makeup and hair, or 1 hour per service. I'll provide you with a recommended schedule closer to your date.
If you're looking for a photographer, I can highly recommend Elsa Campbell, Ali Bailey, Nikki McCrone and Dee from Finders Seeker. I also highly recommend Nat Sproal if you’re looking for an amazing celebrant and Agi from Whole Lotta Love if you need a hand with styling.
Will my makeup last all day?
I'll do all that I can to ensure your makeup will last all day, including skincare for your skin type, waterproof eye products and strategic powdering tricks. Everything I use has been tried and tested and will give you the best results possible. Skin is a living canvas and you'll need a translucent powder and a lip product that you love for touchups. We’ll go through recommendations at your trial.
Will my hair last all day?
I use a variety of products designed to give you the texture you'd like and the strongest hold. If you're having your hair up, then once I've completed your style it will remain intact until you fall into bed that night! If you're having your hair down, the longevity depends on your hair type. If your hair doesn't normally hold curl, you'll likely need extensions as they're colour treated and hold curl extremely well. Your natural hair will blend with them and keep it's curl much longer. I have a range of extensions to try so we can have a chat about it at your trial.
Do you recommend or provide extensions on my wedding day?
I recommend hair extensions for almost all down styles and some up styles. I have a range of hair extension colours to try at your trial if you'd like to see how they look. I'll complete your style, take lots of photos and then remove them before you leave. I'll then provide you with the colour, length and website details to purchase a set for yourself to keep. I can trim them on your wedding day to perfectly complement your style. Prices range from $79.95 to $319.95 a pack depending on the length and number of wefts.
When should I get a fake tan or treatments before my wedding day?
If you’d like to have a fake tan and beauty treatments before your wedding or you'd like to up your skincare regime, I’ll run through all the logistics with you at your trial and in my Bridal Beauty Blueprint that you'll receive after booking. The Blueprint includes recommendations for products and treatments as well as vendors for lash tints, facials, fake tans and nails.
What products do you use?
I use Bioderma skincare products and NARS, Hourglass, Laura Mercier, MAC, Makeup By Mario, Bobbi Brown, Tom Ford, Patrick Ta, Makeup Forever and Estee Lauder makeup products, among others. I use Redken, R&Co, GHD, Revlon Professional, Moroccan Oil and OSIS+ hair products.
How does the trial process work?
I recommend booking in for a trial two to three months before your wedding date, once you've got your outfit organised and a good idea of your wedding style. Trials take about 1 hour per service, and up to 2 hours for both hair and makeup. Please note, from October until April trials are offered on weekdays only as weekends are reserved for weddings.
Trials are for perfecting your hair and makeup look for your wedding day so I'm not able to schedule trials around other events or in conjunction with other vendors.
We'll have a chat about your wedding day, your hair and makeup vision and your style options, and after we're done executing your look, we can make any tweaks or changes you like. After your trial, I'll record all the products we used and file all notes with the photos I've taken so everything can be replicated on your wedding day.
